I don't budget like that

So if the hobby started exceeding your budget plan, do you adjust your budget plan or just quit doing what you enjoy and find something else?

If the expense what we have budgeted and there was no way I could spend less I would either have to quit doing something else or quit that hobby.

For example, I used to race close to 10 sprint or olympic triathlons from memorial day through October but at that time I wasn't playing much golf.

The cost of a race entry is around or over $100, plus food, hotel rooms, etc so now I might race 2-3 times over the same time period BUT I spend alot more on golf.

As the wife and I have gotten raises and our income has increased we usually increase our discretionary spending in accordance
