The abundance of affordable golf around Dirty Myrtle

I have a condo about 20 mi north of Myrtle Beach we've been going to since I was a kid in the 80s. My dad played while I would be at the beach. But as I got older, I started playing. Dad always paid, so I never really knew how much golf cost.
But now I'm the dad (mine is gone) and my 12 yr old boy has the bug. We played twice last week, loved it. It was hot AF, but really good golf.
And here's my point of this post- Golf courses around MB- the ones I've played- are so reasonably priced.
Kids under 14 play free w/ adult; and since I'm a property owner I get local rates.
One round for both was $43; two days later we played another course for $44.
We were down in Destin for spring break this year and it cost us $175 to play one course. I understand I'm comparing apples to concrete, but that's a big difference in cost.

Have been playing Horry County and the Grand Strand area for 25 years. Our first experience with golf packages were in Mrytle Beach back then. Reasonable prices for golf and accommodations with the choice to upgrade courses and hotels. We still make the trip every couple of years.

Sounds like you’re getting a good deal on the Myrtle beach courses. Personally, I wish that courses could charge a bit more and put out a better product vs what we currently have. I don’t want these places to lose money and cave.
Most importantly, enjoy the rounds with your boy. Hopefully you guys hit some good shots together.

As a 40 year resident of Myrtle Beach and member of Pine Lakes Country Club, AKA The Granddaddy, us locals don't like the term Dirty Myrtle. Meet me at the Sonic, by God.
