Uh oh, Leblanc will be here soon to berate you on how this is wrong or what excuse the management at Webb has for doing this. And then he’ll throw in how long he’s been a superintendent and how everyone needs to shut up

I'm not going to tell you to shut up. if you want, I'll explain why they overseed greens. I'm just tired of seeing the superintnednets getting bashed constantly on this forum. I don't overseed greens anymore, because I don't have a huge POA problem yet on greens, and I don't get a lot of winter play. People complain about POA on greens, so they overseeded to provide a smoother putting surface during the winter months and spring. Unfortunaly the transition went poorly. you will probably see more courses overseeeding greens again as the POA issue becomes more widespread. the POA plants are becoming resistant to the hericides we have at our disposal and a lot of companies won't label herbicides for use on putting greens because of the liability it carries. I hope that the guys it BRec have a successful rest of the growing season, and get the greens ready for the fall golf push.

The problem is BREC is poorly run from the top down. They have created an environment of no accountability for Supers, Golf Managers, etc. I don’t blame the course superintendents. It’s above them 100%.

BREC takes in tax dollars from EBR residents and squanders it. It has been going on for Years. Shut down Webb and redo the greens again. But this time make them bigger so you can actually move the pins and give portions of the greens a break from traffic. If it’s getting too much play, raise the green fees to slow the traffic down.

Webb should be a jewel for BREC. They should have 3 of them….Santa, Beaver, & Webb.

Genuine curiosity. I’ve read where you’ve stated that Poa has become immune to some of the herbicides. Why do some courses not have a problem? Like Fenwood for example. Not saying they’ve never had any in the greens, but it’s never been a problem.
