That is a stupid purchase. If I pay 100K for a boat I better be able to live on it.

The crazy increases in new boat prices are propping up the used market. People are able to sell boats close to what they paid for them a few years later. DFW boat show pricing on a MasterCraft NXT22 is 125k this year when it was under 100k just a couple of years ago

Imagine 19 years from now still paying $1k a month for this

On the other hand - President AOC will likely forgive ALL debt in 2030 so you might get this thing for half price.

How many people have a 20 year old boat 1) that hasn't been re-powered (new motor), or 2) had major electrical overhaul, not to mention new expensive troll motors, etc. Add insurance to that cost also!

Nothing you put in the water lasts 20 years, especially salt water.

Not everyone has an outboard you know. One of the guys I ride with has a 1995 MasterCraft ProStar 205 that is still on the original motor, trailer and interior. Take care of your stuff and it'll last a long time.

Hell, there's a guy on Lake Austin with a 1978 Stars and Stripes that I see out pulling skiers almost every weekend.
