I have a DSC PowerSeries PC1832 with keypad RFK5501 home alarm system. Recently a trouble condition indicator came on showing a sensor fault, same zone shows OPEN and it is not open. I tried changing the Ion Micra-D sensor and was able to successfully program the new sensor. The trouble indicator went off and we were able to set the alarm as usual for about 24 hours. Now the trouble indicator has come back on again, showing OPEN. Tried programing the sensor again to no avail. I have successfully changed batteries in the sensors many times and even changed one of the other sensors previously, but this shows a different trouble condition. Any suggestions??

Since you say that you've changed sensors and programmed them, my suggestion is to swap the programming from the sensor on zone 16 with another similar sensor and program the sensor that was 16 with the other sensor's programming.

That way, if there is still a problem with zone 16 it is most likely a control panel issue. If the problem moves to the sensor that is currently giving you the problem, it is likely the sensor. Of course, you also could have had programming issues that you didn't realize.

Good Luck!

Do you have an open zone you can move it to?

It might be a wiring problem going to that sensor
