I’ll admit, I saw Damon in one of the trailers and I was almost embarrassed at how bad his delivery was. I was convinced he would suck, and I’m a Damon fan.

Yeah, Damon will be overshadowed by discussions of Murphy and RDJ's performances. (RDJ will probably jump to the head of line on Oscar odds for Best Supporting Actors, at least until more Oscar-bait movies come out in the fall.)
But Damon was pretty incredibly. His performance is the glue that holds the narrative together...which I won't say more about because it will definitely get into spoiler territory.
