Nah, I live in Denham and my parking pass is in the Bernie Moore track parking lot. I wait for Nicholson traffic to start flowing, head north to Florida, get on I-110 to I-10 and cruise from there. Those who want to go east can do so much easier going that route than maneuvering thru the lakes or Burbank, if they can get to Nicholson from where they parked.

That is because you are going North initially. Which isn't that bad. A lot of people though. Especially those from BR metro want to go E/SE from the stadium. Same for many people if they want to go on I10-E. They chose to wind their way through the glut of traffic on Nicholson, Highland, Burbank rather than maybe backtrack a bit (north) to eventually get where they want to go.

If you are willing to travel North initially before heading East the traffic (while not fast flowing) is better than if you are trying to wind your way through campus to go E/SE. I used to live in the Westminster area of BR (in the triangle between 10 and 12). Directionally it would have been more reasonable for me to travel to and park on the east side of campus. But I would purposely park in the hayfield lots by the river so after the game I could go north to downtown and easily jump on I-10E (like you do) to get home. Theorectically I could have gone Burbank to Bluebonnet, then NE on Bluebonnet. But it was just easier (and quicker) to backtrack a bit to downtown before going E/SE
