No band has the depth of composition like Pink Floyd. Pair that with Gilmour’s out-of-this-world guitar chops and you have one of, if not the best band of all time.

As to their best song? I dunno. Brain Damage/Eclipse is up there.

Such an epic ending to a ride through that album.

I have pondered through the years of my "Favorite" Floyd song and it is not easy for me. I will say that Echoes was the song that back in the mid 70's brought me on board and it has been a hell of a 50 year ride. It's still my favorite if I had to pick one. I wont say its their best song but its my favorite

My favorites

1 - Echoes

Shine on you crazy diamond
Dogs
Time
Sorrow (Live Version)
Wot's uh the deal

"No band has the depth of composition like Pink Floyd."

I would put Genesis (pre 1976) in this category as well.

But no band ever had the sound production, mixing and editing on their studio albums like Pink Floyd. Their secret weapon as Alan Parsons producing Dark Side Of The Moon.
Regardless of what type of song PF was recording, the sound quality of their albums was unparalleled.
