No band has the depth of composition like Pink Floyd. Pair that with Gilmour’s out-of-this-world guitar chops and you have one of, if not the best band of all time.
As to their best song? I dunno. Brain Damage/Eclipse is up there.

My favorite version of CN was performed live in New Orleans May14 1994
I was there in the plaza level of the dome. Was a religious experience after having just graduated high school. The scene around the dome before the concert was insane.
A couple of interesting notes. NOLA PD shot a guy during the show who pulled a gun on the officer who was trying to arrest the guy’s wife for refusing to put out her joint. Also the dome fined PF a big fine when a laser got stuck in one spot too long and did damage to the ceiling (supposedly)

Idk, I come back to this every now and then and feel like that’s my favorite guitar solo. David Gilmour fricking kills it.
