No chemical plant will ever admit that anything was released because that gives lawyers all the ammo they need

These two
Things would have nothing at all to do with each other. And like pointed out, operations is always fully staffed

Sometimes it's like that. And other times you're busy all night long and don't have time to stop and eat. It really depends on what's going on. And it also depends on the plant.

Oweo also thought that because he saw liquid being pumped into the river from a plant one time that it was toxic sludge and illegal and all the plants are doing it.

Just as expected…..

Wives of Dow employees are running their mouths on FB with from what it seems like “sensitive” information about what’s going on out there….They gonna end up getting their husbands fired over that.

Never cross through the turnstile with problems or information. The wives know not what they do.

There was no work done on the EO tanks on the shutdown. If these were in fact the EO tanks going off.

Are those the big horizontal stainless steel tanks on the north side of the unit (side closest to Ineos)? If so, they definitely appeared to be burning. Or at least, that area appeared to be burning.

Some baw shot a video from the road that goes to the Dow main gate from LA-1, and you can tell that the blaze is on the far side of the unit.

Although I suppose that doesn’t mean they actually “went off,” even if those are the EO tanks.

Breaking the circle of trust is a big no no…. Braxton gonna find himself on a Rec team next year….

Also, to any of the guys hiding in the bathroom stall posting blow by blow updates while everyone else is in ERT mode… and you know who you are…. You deserve what you get ;-)

Dow basically has a lazy river of river water running through the middle of it

And it all goes back in the MS river

Plenty of friends passed over for unqualified engineering candidates. Senior management bonuses tied to certain hires.

There are a ton of just really ignorant comments itt, but this is a doozy. First of all, most engineers at plants are damn near irrelevant. The process, procedures, and policies are already in place and consultants/project engineers are third partied to do the hard stuff. Secondly, engineers aren’t even there at night. (Although they were coming off of a turnaround and they could have been working a night shift)

He’s not wrong about lesser candidates being hired and promoted by all of these big companies solely on the basis of color, gender, and sexual preferences. Those rare trifectas that were all of the above were especially rewarding hires for their managers, no matter what sort of competence or work ethic they had. Anyone that says anything else is lying or clueless or both. I know for a fact that some hiring managers were told they had no choice but to hire a diversity hire, a white male wouldn’t be approved.

I’m not certain what you are arguing, but this is the precise reason that these events occur. Over dependency on process, procedures, and policies. Competency is becoming a thing of the past
