Mine is an average of 135/mo. How many years would it take for you to break even?

For my home it would be about 18 years. I have other investments I can pay into returning much quicker and higher than 18 year ROI.

I've been toying with the idea of buying a solar-powered "generator"...it is actually just a big battery that allows for solar panel inputs. It can also be charged with regular/car power.

Would be nice for camping, etc. in addition to the occasional power outage.

This is the argument. If you plan on living in the house for 30 years - good investment.
