Putting them on the barndominium - but on the lower porch roof/awning. currently looking for PBR panel mounts. If you're electrical savvy, signature solar has some attractive kits that qualify for the 30% rebate. My logic for going off grid is that rates will only go up and that rolling blackouts will also only be increasing.

There's also the feature of being able to charge the batteries with a smaller generator and then you can run the bigger loads with the batteries/inverter.
