Sounds terrible all around. I feel like there should be more to this story.
That is a very well traveled part of road. Like others said, very weird to bait a kid to get an unsuspecting female traveling alone.
Better odds of police or trooper patrol pulling over.

I'm with you. If an abduction/assault took place on the side of the interstate there were dozens of people that saw it happening. This is an extremely busy road.
I hope this story has a happy ending. However. real life isn't a movie. It would not be easy to drag this girl into a car without several people taking notice. It's just an extremely strange story.
Hopefully something will break soon.

This assumes there's only one person involved. If there are three in on it, you have two lookouts identifying potential victims way up/down the road and advising the other when to send the child out. They would also be looking out for police traffic as well of course.
