Kid can get a job in BR today making 10 times what the MLB will pay him.

This is true. While I do wish he could have gotten more of a signing bonus, he has a choice.

And he could do that if he wanted to

10x what he would make in single A? Sure
10x what he would make in the majors?
I think you are overestimating how much a land man makes

I assume you’re referring to what he’d make in the minors, since the 2023 minimum MLB salary is 720K.

What job exactly could he get for 200,000 signing bonus?

I bet he would sign for nothing to get a chance to catch lightning in a bottle and make it to the bigs. I know I would have.

What job would pay him that much that isn't some kind of athletic kick back or family business deal?

$20K was his signing bonus.

No idea of his actual salary:

I’m not sure what you guys think Minor Leaguers make, but it’s really not very much.

Idk what his signing bonus was, slot was $165k, but minor league guys aren’t paid very much. $20k a year is not out of the ordinary.

He could always do some scantily clad tik tok vids. I’ve heard that’s lucrative.

Yeah I’m sure he’d tell any team willing to draft him “I know it’s been my lifelong dream to play professional baseball and you guys are willing to allow me to do just that, but I changed my mind. Thanks anyway.”

No he couldn’t. How many former football/baseball/basketball players live in BR are making north of 250k that aren’t Dr’s, lawyers, or business owners?

Negative. Maybe with what the MILB is paying him. If he makes the Big Leagues (MLB) he will be very well taken care of.

Just like most professions, you start with a chance and you work your way up. Baseball, for most people (not Paul Skenes ) is one of those work places.

Yep the minor leagues is a tough life and Dugas is likely to be there for a while if he ever makes it to the majors. But I'm sure it's his dream to give it a go.
