Yes, Harbaugh got the program turned around, had two Heisman runners-up, and one great season. Guess who was Harbaugh's OC that entire time?
Shaw as HC finished in the top 20 6 of his first 7 years on the job. He finished #3 in his 5th year. Shaw was a really good coach for most of his tenure.
He fizzled out at the end, but as has been pointed out, Stanford's decline coincided with the introduction of the early signing period, and then NIL.
