I visited an Amish community in TN recently and at least 3/4 of the people I spoke to would be considered to be on the spectrum if they were part of normal society.

Cool folks, though. Those buggy builders do awesome work.

Lawrenceburg/Three Oaks area? If so, those are Swartzentruber Amish....hardliners. The women can't/won't speak to you if you're male. They don't have phones at all, or any other modern conveniences. They are the most conservative sect of Amish.

If you ever need a high quality, top notch portable building check with Abe Miller by way of the USPS or a visit toward the end of Three Oaks Road. His buildings are better quality, he uses better materials, and they're a good deal cheaper than anything on the market. There's a wait list with some amount of good faith money ("Whatever you feel is good." he will say). He builds poplar board and batten or metal sided buildings. Hit up Todd Yaneyahn (spelling is dickered, I'm sure) down the way at Powder Mill Hill antiques to move/set the building. I'm not sure if he's still doing it, though, it has been a few years.

Try to visit Abe around lunchtime. Otherwise, you probably won't catch him home.
