Very good post...Miles went with Mallaveto because it was the status quo. He could keep the continuity with the staff and everything would basically stay the same on defense, which was just coming off a national title and another top 5 total defense ranking.

It was an acceptable move at the time. It made sense.

It just didn't work out, for whatever reason.

I didn't like the DC move at the time but I agree It made sense after the season if everything remained the same. If RP is around still, the defenseive woes MAY not have hurt as much. But getting rid of him was the right move. I also felt like while the Iron was hot we should have paid for the best DC we could find but like I said Hindsight is 20/20.
