it was a short list. and not everything works out like we want it to.
i always like the theory that there was a possiblity that their ideal guy (no clue who) needed to wait a year so he put this co sytem in place as a temporary fix.

Very good post...Miles went with Mallaveto because it was the status quo. He could keep the continuity with the staff and everything would basically stay the same on defense, which was just coming off a national title and another top 5 total defense ranking.
It was an acceptable move at the time. It made sense.
