Last time I was there I hit Terry Black’s for lunch. The line was not long so virtually no wait. Everything looked amazing. I am not sure what was going through my mind, but I ordered way too much food. Everything was amazing and I got so uncomfortably full. Warning to everyone.

This was my experience on Saturday. Went there around 2:00. Place was slammed but I lucked into a great parking spot and walked in. I'd never been there before so wanted to do like a "3 meat plate" deal to try some things.

Got beans and slaw. Then ordered meats by the slice. 2 pieces of brisket, 2 slices of turkey, and 2 pork ribs. I was volunteering at a convention and hadn't eaten since 7:00 AM so I was starving.

My bill... $62. Holy crap, but I'm there for the experience.

The food? Sublime. Worth that price all day, every day.

But I ordered enough for two people easily and paid for it financially

Ate what I could and took the rest with me. A lesson learned but don't go there hungry and also realize a "slice" of brisket won't be some thin sliced piece you get at a place in Louisiana.

I will admit...bbq prices have gotten way out of control. I went to get a breakfast taco at Rudy's, and had a novel idea of just ordering a slice of fatty brisket (from the point) to put in an egg taco, instead of getting chopped brisket. 1 damn slice was almost $6! It was thick, but damn!

And yeah, it was a very good breakfast taco done that way. Highly recommend doing that if you are near a Rudy's. Just ask for a think slice of fatty, along with whatever else you want in your taco.
