Late July
Do an airboat ride instead. It's more expensive but a lot more fun and you won't die from the heat.

Last weekend during the heatwave I drove four people from Canada out to the Honey Island tour location outsides of Slidell. They had been struggling with the heat in Nola, so I’m guessing they were in for a rough time out in the boat at 1 in the afternoon.
Surprisingly out of the 25 or so cars in the parking lot, half were from out of state. One from Pennsylvania and one from Ohio stood out
