Evangel was the first college style ran high school program I ever saw, from the recruiting of players to actually having the curriculum and credits setup around the football program. To even the way money was funneled into the program through boosters from a church. It really was ahead of its time. Yep. They picked apart the best talent from smaller high schools in the Ark-La-Tex region, mine included. It sucked, but it did make for some fun feetbaw.
