The key for a DIY soft wash mixture to match what the pros use is to add a surfactant to your mix. This is what causes the mixture to cling to your roof instead of just rolling back down and into your gutters.
So just google roof wash surfactant mixture for some ideas.

Is this the same as Roof Snot? That's what the soft washers use around here to get the chemicals to cling. I thought it was different than a surfactant but I may be wrong.
