An article about Ballard

LINK

I have a friend (that has kids since for some reason that seems to be relevant to wanting to stop human trafficking) that has worked with legit anti trafficking NGOs and this is what she has said about OUR:

Be very weary of OUR and any kidnapping/stranger stories out there. I spent a lot of time in my early 20s working in the world of NGOs and with the Attorney General. OUR is basically the laughing stock (but in a very scary and sad way) of the anti trafficking NGO community.

They unfortunately more often than not do more harm than good.
Basically a bunch of misguided, uneducated bros playing GI Joe, but with real peoples lives at stake.

Real trafficking happens much closer to home and with people much more familiar to children (think sports coaches, clergy, youth leaders, family friends, etc) and this BS movie is making it seem like literally kidnapping and moving across the borders is prevalent, when it’s very rare, is taking focus from the real issue and allowing more children to get hurt.

Yes, just like most violations of children. It starts with family and then friends. You don't get much further than that typically. Sometimes institutions (school, church, etc.).

Certain types of cancers are rare, too. Should we not be studying them and trying to prevent them as well?

I would like to ask this question, is the sex trafficking that this movie is predicated on actually going on in the real world? Yes? Then why are you and SFP shitting on this movie and this man because he’s doing what he can to stop it?

Nobody in this thread at all is attempting to say that what this movie touches on is the norm when it comes to sex trafficking. But that does not mean that it is irrelevant and not deserving of its own attention.

Frankly, the two of you have been shitty posters for a long time passing yourselves off as some kind of extremely wise moderates above it all. I’ve read the receipts on you regarding COVID, nurse, you’re a company girl through and through. Thinking because you’re a “medical professional” that you somehow were more informed and everyone else’s opinion on the matter was not only wrong but stupid (and usually typed out in a condescending slant), no matter how steeped in data and analytics they were.

And you, SFP, I believe that you’ve been thoroughly outed as a fricking loser all over this site. You are not nearly as smart as you think you are. Considering you’re typically on the losing end of the many arguments you start. You’re not much better than AggieHank86. In fact, the two of you are all too similar.
