the film could be seen as adjacent to the alt-right paranoia that was originally stoked by 4Chan and QAnon: the wing-nut conspiracy theory about a Washington, D.C., pizza parlor being a front for a pedophile ring, extending into the larger conspiracy theory that says that the culture of liberalism is a racket to protect and cover up the actions of pedophiles.

Ah yes, definitely be concerned about the people concerned about pedophilia. Wouldn't want to endanger the pedophiles.

This is an intellectually dishonest response.

Being concerned about pedophilia is one thing.

Creating stupid mythos and partisan talking points trying to associate your perceived out group with pedophilia does nothing but draw focus to your in/out group conflict and ignores the reality of actual children being violated.

I'll give you a tactile example of what I'm talking about.

Young people in sex work are almost exclusively runaways who choose this lifestyle over their former life. Due to many sociological and legal-regulatory reasons, there aren't exactly economic options for 14-17 year olds without a personal infrastructure. Sex work has always been the outlet for this population, and this has literally been a meme since humans created population groupings 10-12k years ago.

Young people are not being kidnapped, in any significant population, into sex slavery where they're moved across the world or are part of occult/demonic rituals. There aren't conspiracies and sex cults and all the stuff that's a part of the secret knowledge you believe primarily because it makes your perceived enemy look bad.

When your focus becomes on this fantastical mythos, you start to pay attention to the actual victims in reality. If you live in a city of any sort of size, I bet there are organizations you could join to help runaways off the street. You won't get to demonize your perceived partisan enemies, and it will be gross, dirty, and boring, but you could actually make a difference.

But you'd rather use intellectually dishonest rhetoric online and own the libs an feel like you've done something.
