Well done by Jay. I completely agree with the viewpoint of not starting him to avoid giving Florida that emotional boost once he leaves the game. That’s 4D chess right there.

Was he ever asked about the move of Beloso to the lead off spot? I think it was a brilliant move, considering JC lacked control and saw the matchup as a good walk vs Hit batter scenario in front of Crews and white. I’m assuming it was more than just a, Beloso is swinging the bat well situation.

Although we enjoy the end result but had we lost, this board would've gone apeshit for not starting our baw

Skenes wanted to be in the position to come shut their arse down

“I want my pitches to matter”

I don't remember him specifically being asked, but Cagaroni and cheese has control issues with left handers and Beloso's OBP was on another level in the CWS. It was a great move.

And yet, even after hearing Coach Johnson explain his thought process (brilliantly, I might add) there will still be posters on here who will continue to believe Johnson doesn't know what he's doing or is in over his head coaching at LSU.

If anyone listened to his press conferences the last few weeks and thinks he doesn’t know what he is doing, I don’t know what to tell them. Intelligent, logical with attention to detail

I don’t think so. The national championship put an end to that. Folks will still question his decisions, which is okay, but no one is going to say he is in over his head.

He sent Skenes to the bull pen just to break Florida’s will… Once they saw him head to the bull pen they said oh shite it’s over…

Did you listen to the clip? That was part of the plan to go start getting ready. He wasn’t taking any chances until the game was obviously out of reach. Did the stretching part but never had to get to the throwing part

It was strictly a bad match for their pitcher who struggled badly with control issues vs lefties. That combined with Beloso crushing it vs lefties and JJ pulled the string on it.

That's exactly what I said the morning of the game.

Florida will do everything to extend at bats and run up his pitch count so if we have to pull Skenes in a close game, it's a big psychological monentum shite to Florida.

Start and pitch Skenes like normal tomorrow
