re: Nuss will be our starting qb by mid-season

I'm still not sold on JD. yes, he should be better with a better team around him and another year of experience. i still don't think he can distribute the ball (I hope I'm wrong). we'll find out fairly early because the teams with talent have scouted him from last year. If they are shutting him down, well, I don't know how long you can keep Nuss out. I remember well how teams shut him down at the end of the season.
