Thats why I was asking and most civilians ain't got a body cam on or camera on for vehicle either. By end of the video, looked like dude wouldn't be telling cops his side of the story, but he is dressed the part of a thug with a gun. So if no camera was involved, it should be open and shut self defense?

I ask because dude fired as soon as the door opened. I'm wondering did the perp open the door, or the cop? If the same scenario plays and the citizen opens the door and fires immediately, is it justified? Definitely looks so, but we know how juries be, and luckily it wasn't a black in this case for the cop.

There’s your answer, juries and DAs. Sure, it should be no different, civilians and cops have the same right to self defense per the law.

The guy that opened the door was aiming a gun at the cop.

Pretty sure it's "justified".
