1996- My first title while on campus. I’ll never forget the way Baton Rouge spontaneous combusted after that bomb. Cars honking pregame going down the street. Everyone running out of their apartments at Sharlo acting a fool. I was high fiving and hugging people I had never met before. My now wife was feeling like death from bronchitis and she was even screaming and jumping up and down at then end…followed quickly by literally passing out. Good times.

2023- I can’t believe I’m ranking them 2nd, but I was on campus for 96. But this team had everything- star power, storylines, unsung heroes, a huge downturn at the end of the season and injuries to set up the big run to the title, comebacks, clutch play, dominant wins. This was 30 for 30 stuff.

1997- The swan song for Gorilla Ball in college baseball. They went out with a bang. That was a fun ride with a team that could bury anyone. And watching them beat Bama’s brains into the Rosenblatt turf was almost as much fun as last night.

2009- Definitely not the best Tiger Championship Team, but one of the most fun. They had a great run once Manieri made a few adjustments and had almost as many good storylines as this year’s team. It was also great to get a title after Skip just to prove that LSU wasn’t just a one-man show.

2000- It’s insane to rank a team that had a walk-off for a fricking title this low, but the stories with all of the above are just that good, at least to me. This one is still right up there, though.

1993- I arrived at LSU in August of 93 and didn’t grow up in Louisiana, so I missed this one. I was indoctrinated quickly after, though.

1991- Unfortunately before my time.
