I'm not going to sit here and act like I know the answer to that question.
And I'm not saying tnat Skenes won't pitch. He has a very easy delivery that I don't think puts much stress on his arm.
That said, comparing pitchers now days to the 90s or prior is just dumb.

There have always been guys who throw upper 90s. Some guys are just built to do that.
We've taken kids and put them in the weight room, overanalyzed the shite out of their mechanics, and manufactured pitchers who throw mid to upper 90s. They aren't doing it naturally, IMO. The kid wh should be throwing upper 80s are throwing mid 90s and pushing their body beyond its limits.
