All I see is a bunch of whiny bitches on here. This field is not much bigger than the Box! 5 ft further at the corners, 10 ft further in the gaps, and 3 ft further in dead center. Of course if the wind is blowing in at 25mph you're not going to hit it out...it'd be the same at the box if the wind was blowing at at 25mph. Everyone has to play on it, so what's the big deal? It's literally only 5-10ft bigger field

Whiney bitches?

For wanting to see teams and players that hit home runs be able to hit home runs?

And the dimensions you mention are a lot when it comes to hitting home runs in a park where the predominant wind blows in from center.

That's all fine and dandy but they set it up with the predominant wind that always blows in. So your dimension comparisons are meaningless.

Maybe you missed the commentary Ben McDonald made stating that wind blowing in is a rarity at the Box while wind blowing in is the norm at Charles Schwab. The stadium is oriented in the wrong direction in addition to boundaries.

That is not how weather works. We live in the Northern Hemisphere where summer time winds are predominantly out of the north. This is even more so the case in the plains states. For them to orient a baseball stadium in the direction they did was just plain stupid.

The point is that it's arbitrarily stupid.

It's like if for the NCAA football playoffs all games were played on Canadian style fields with huge endzones and uprights at the goal lines.

That would be "fair" since both teams would be dealing with the same issues, but it is an absolutely terrible idea.

Because they wind always blows in there. It’s the natural wind pattern. Like here the wind blows out the south unless a cold front comes through. For YEARS the design plus placement of the field has cost teams runs. He’ll Mississippi St lost out one year when a guy hit a ball that’d been on Nicholson at the Box yet guy catches it on the wall. Same for TCU. Game winning homerun in any park in America but they are home right now.
