Yes. It's one of only two places I've ever been, that, despite unrealistically high expectations, it still shattered those expectations!

I would leave enough time to drive the entire "loop" at least once and just commit to getting out at every single stop and taking your time.

IMO, the absolute highlight is Artists' Point @ The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Leave yourself an hour or two just to sit their and be with it. It's the only place I've ever been that looked fake in person. I truly find it the most peaceful and breathtaking spot on the globe.

I agree with trying to stay in the park, but that might be tough this season if you haven't already made plans.

completely agree. AND...the south rim trail to ribbon lake, looping back to clear lake then back to the trailhead is the best hike i've ever done
