So the doctor is now some super assassin capable of killing dozens of Klingons in hand-to-hand combat? This is getting just silly.
The original series had great stories with consistent characters. They didn't rely on gimmicks of the week to make things interesting. This season has been a disappointment after the writing in the first season.

WTF did I just watch?
M’benga killed an ambassador in cold blood and Pike acts like it’s not a big deal? I don’t care about his reasoning. He’s a Starfleet officer and the Chief Medical Officer on the flagship. Completely irredeemable character at this point. I don’t really want to watch another episode with him in it.
Chappell covering for him is just as bad. It makes sense that she would, given their past, but both should be locked up in the brig awaiting trial.
Una gets dragged to court for lying on her Starfleet application, but these two skate by on murder and covering for it? Wow.
