5-0
48-17 (+31)
3HR+/game

Weak super regional opponent is the only thing that taints it, can't remember a more dominant performance in regional/super regional play.

It’s been a strong performance.

The 2000 team destroyed the whole postseason from SEC tournament to national championship.

It’s been a dominant season minus 3 weeks before regional.

We have been ranked top 5 all season. We had unrealistic expectations with people thinking they would go undefeated.

Kentucky was a weak opponent but I’m pretty sure LSU could have played anyone this week and they would have rolled them. They were on a mission

Very comparable, we were tested once then.
Stronger regional field this year, probably stronger super regional pairing in 2000.

That 2000 team had a pretty strong showing.

5-0 with a +53 differential.

But I'm really happy with this team!

ETA: Of course, I'm like the 4th one to get this in!

Still worth mentioning again!

Power numbers this year are kind of eye popping in comparison, especially considering the times. And considering the number of players that contributed, Cresse was the main source that year with 4 others going deep.

16 bombs compared to 11 in 2000

We've been begging for offensive minded gorilla ball, hope it carries over to omaha.

Now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a minute.

A 40-19 Kentucky team is not exactly weak imo

Cresse was so damn fun to watch in the postseason in 2000. He was on an absolute tear.

If Kentucky had been sent to a couple other Super Regionals, they likely go to Omaha.

One thing that has changed since LSU's last World Series Championship is that the SEC has gotten much more competitive in baseball. Since our last championship in 2009, six different SEC teams have won the title. I think that makes the accomplishments of this year's team even more impressive.

I hope the NCAA doesn't tweak the balls again. The power this season has been pretty exciting.

Weak super regional opponent

Kentucky was not a weak Super Regional opponent. They are extremely tough team with a good pitching staff and they utilize their small ball offense well. Anyone who doesn't think Kentucky was a good team is mistaken.
