Individual sport GOATS vs team sport GOATS is tough.
This is an easier argument for these two when Djokovic wins a few more, which he definitely will. Right now he's just barely above Nadal and Federer in his sport. Gretzky is so far superior than the next guy you still have to give him the nod. Serena probably has a better argument than Joker.
You don't have the awards to compare someone like Babe Ruth (probably my personal GOAT) to others. He probably would have won 8 MVPS if the award was around then and possibly a Cy Young. Even in team sports, I'd give him the edge over Gretzky, Brady, MJ and LeBron.
Sugar Ray Robinson definitely has a case, but people forget about boxing. I'd have him over Djokovic.
I love that Djokovic said he wants to stay out of the debate and leave that to others, unlike LeBron, who tries to make a case for himself.
