It definitely was.

PM left the program in a better place but Smoke Laval’s overall and SEC record his last two years was almost identical to PM’s last two. PM also inherited signees Blake Dean, Ryan Schimpf, Sean Ochinko, Jared Michell, and holdover Louis Coleman. The cupboard wasn’t completely bare.

You are completely ignoring the situations. Lsu didnt make the field smokes last year. The program was losing fan support in a major way. The cupboard definitely wasnt bare, but blake dean came in as a pitcher and wasnt some highly touted hitting prospect. Louis coleman was one of the worst pitchers on staff who completely changed his motion and arm slot with the new coaching staff to try to find something. The locker room culture was at its lowest poinr and had to be completely re built
