Newt Gingrich got Clinton RE-elected.

I don't even mean that as a slam on Gingrich. It was, what it was, though.

Maybe that's why congressional republicans no longer really do ANYTHING, but I still appreciate Newt and his vision at the time.

Republicans are cheating in Kansas, where they have held the two Senate seats for over 80 years?

While it is possible for the Republicans to be cheating, one party controlling two senate seats is not the same as having one party control of local governments for 60+ years while things in those localities get worse and worse and worse. If things for Kansas are getting worse every year (since the senators look out for the state), I'd agree that the Republicans were cheating.

Ford came close, and lost by very thin margins in Ohio and Wisconsin. Had he won those states, he would've beaten Carter.

Unless you are saying that black people are stupid (i certainly don't think they are), one would think that they would try something different after 60 years of democrats "helping" them and things are worse today than 60 years ago.

He did come close. Any other year, he would have won.

Hell, Reagan nearly beat him in the primary. It would be have interesting to have seen what he would have done in the general, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise that he didn't get there in '76.

We needed Carter to get the full impact of Reagan.

Jimmy Carter swung a lot of traditional GOP states in the south because he was from the south.
there were no traditional Republican states in the south in 1976. With the notable exception of Nixon (who won the South based on anti-Red bona fides), the Old South been voting Democrat in presidential elections for a century.

Hell, they voted against Eisenhower.

Only 25% of registered voters identify as Republican (published in 2020). 32% Democrats and 41% independent.

ah anti democracy bot.

liars poker.

this liars poker one is important.
the idea, the intent, is to sow doubt. to make democracy doubted a little more.
poster sneaky-weakens the social contract so people like trump can seize power. maga flag wavers like bannon and trump are liars. they don't love actual America.
their just want their way.

who remembered that trump called last year to be restored to power unconstitutionally, just do it!?! the basis was supposed to be all this fraud. the guy claiming California really voted republican is playing to trumps hand. it was so awful just reinstall him now.
