from not playing in the Cotton Bowl?

Is there a real chance they would pass on a 9-3 LSU for a 7-6 ND?

I HIGHLY doubt that would happen. But if it did the Cotton Bowl would make the biggest mistake of their lives. Notre Dame is about to be 1-16 in their last 17 games against opponents with a winning record. So do they really stand a chance against Oklahoma? Hell, we barely stand a chance and we'd beat Notre Dame by 3 or 4 td's.

Getting screwed out of playing in the Cotton Bowl is a good thing.

Maybe LSU should vote not to go to the Cotton Bowl?

No. The defending National Champs in the next state over. Not to mention we match up WAY better against any Big 12 team than Notre Dame. The Cotton Bowl wants to be taken more seriously--taking Notre Dame would not help that.

I wouldn't use the word "screwed" for having that occur.

I would love to watch Notre Dame get assraped by a Texas or Oklahoma.

More power to them.

We can only hope so. I don't want any part of any Big XII team in a bowl this year. Any of Texas, OU, TTech, Mizzou and Okie State would put up an embarrassing number of points on us.

Speaking of Okie State, that might be an angle the Cotton tries for, since both LSU and OSU should still be available when it's the Cotton's turn. But they may go for a higher Big XII team if they're available. I bet they would love to get Texas and Notre Dame.

As for us, we're better off going to the Peach Bowl and facing some ACC team, or maybe the Outback against a Big Ten team.

I really can't see it happening...I hope we make the Cotton Bowl cause I would much rather play OU than play OSU in the Cap. one

1969 Cotton Bowl takes 10-0 ND over 9-1 LSU(23-26 loss to Arch), breaking their 35Y Bowl ban!

ND is a below average to poor football team. Their time has passed.

In about a week ND will play on the road in a nationally televised game against a hungry USC team, playing for BCS-style points and it could get VERY ugly. When that happens, ND's bowl stock will drop lower than the New York Stock Exchange. Of course, it would be even better if they would lose this weekend to a horrible Syracuse team, but I doubt that will happen.

Plus side: LSU doesn't get skull fricked by whatever Big 12 team we would play.

Down side: Getting skull fricked by a Big 12 team may convince Miles to hire a real DC.

It is very possible. While LSU travels well in general, people need to realize that people at LSU are now spoiled. The Cotton Bowl is seen as a pointless game now. This alone may be a reason the Cotton goes with Notre Dame. Their fans travel whether they are good or suck.

It's all about money, and I assure you that more ND fans would get pumped up for the Cotton Bowl this year than LSU fans.

Not sure they are assuming LSU would finish 9-3
