If you're losing money in behavioral health you're doing something wrong.

That hospital is in Jackson, MS - there may be other contributing factors than just FMOL

Depends on the market. If you are able to keep your census at a certain level and don’t have other facilities getting the market share you need to be viable, it’s not hard to lose money in BH. Facilities also make a difference. Newer, for-profit facilities are often more modern and have been built to minimize staffing requirements while maintaining standards, while older facilities in general hospitals are often unable to do the same kind of build out and have to hire additional staff for safety and security purposes.
