shite really only 3. Guidry should be available if we need him. I hope we don’t though. It definitely paid off though. Still didn’t agree with the decision.

We won the game but that doesn'tmake bad decision good.

We will have pitched our two best pitchers a total of 3 innings against the best competition in the regional. Was that the plan?

I believe the plan was to 1) win games, and 2) set our pitching rotation in order for next weekend and hopefully Omaha.

There's no argument, just a huge plate of uneaten crow.

Just admit you were wrong and only pissy because it bucked tradition of how we typically have handled our rotation in regionals past.

Did Jay know for certain things/weather would play out this way? Obviously not but he still made an informed decision that worked out for multiple reasons.

We can be honest. Jay got lucky with the weather.

Jay got lucky for two reasons. You had Skenes go 9 for the first time all year. If Hurd throws Friday (which actually was the plan), he doesn’t get up to 90 like he did today. That wasn’t “planned” but it was the largest factor in todays win besides the delay.

it’s almost as if… he knows what he’s doing

If he knew what he was doing why didn’t he make the defensive substitution for Travinski? I would have rested a lot easier without the tying run on second.

Seriously, is Milazzo hurt? Shouldn’t he have caught the ninth?

Weather made the decision better in hindsight…the end result isn’t lucky

Weather made it work out the same way it would have worked out had there been no bad weather all weekend and the starters reversed. Think about that.

What if Hurd goes out against Tulane and gives a similar performance? Aren’t we in the exact same spot?

Nope.

If we pitched Hurd, then mindset is Skenes is game 2, Floyd game 3.
Skenes gets pushed back to today, since the game yesterday was postponed. Then, you lose Skenes to the delay.

Floyd hasn't relieved the way Hurd has this year, and it's a real risk to screw up his pregame rituals in a situation like this, so you probably go bullpen on resumption of the game. As tight as this game was, we probably lose this, and throw Floyd tonight to make it to tomorrow. You'd then have to win 2, and assume we'd burn Cooper at least in this game. Everything lines up to hope Coleman can win game 1 tomorrow, and some combo of Money and Little (no shite, he can go innings) takes the regional final.

The way it worked out (with some help from the weather), you're now looking at Coleman, Cooper, Ack, Money, Collins, and then Guidry, with Little if someone stumbles early.

I disagreed with the call, but I wasn't going to be upset unless we lost today. It actually worked out perfectly. Skenes would be on much shorter rest next week. Especially with the postponed 2nd game. We would have likely burned Hurd or Floyd against Tulane. Then we would have lost Skenes after 3 innings today. I don't think we win today without Hurd.
