they may be but if I send 100 $1000 drones and you shoot 100 $1,000,000 missiles to take them out who is winning? talking out of my arse but I think that cheaper tech can be used very effectively to overwhelm or at the minimum make your enemy spend way more than you.

If we needed missiles for drones that would make sense. Drones are easily taken down by a Phalanx system.
I’m not saying you can’t overwhelm with low tech, but drones and hypersonic missiles just aren’t in the same universe.

Your 100 drones would fall into the sea without a single air defense missile being fired. Russia successfully jammed Ukrainian drones two days ago preventing most of them from reaching their targets in Moscow. I would think a carrier strike group would have even more robust drone defenses.
