The people that swung to Desantis camp and suddenly entrenched themselves is pretty strong. I’m not sure what they are going to do if Desantis doesn’t get serious traction though. I’ll take either as a candidate but I personally prefer the gorilla in the China shop

Not all that long ago anything negative said about Trump and you had downvotes at a 10:1 ratio over upvotes.

Or maybe look at the percentage of threads are dominated by Desantis vs. Trump or chunky chews (NJ) vs. Trump, etc. You think anyone really cares about these threads? When nothing important is happening in regards to the race? This is mental masturbation. You got 'eem now though. What if Lez Chaney gets into the mix? Oh noes!

The big backers don't really care if Desantis wins or not..of course they'd prefer it, buf if not..they will hurt Trump, which is their main goal.

Trump forced the R to pivot to a more populist movement, hijacked R to the MAGA side and this does not sit well with establishment.

No matter what, I'll always be grateful Trump carved out a lasting segment of populism in the R party that Ross Perot couldn't.

Most people I know have moved on from Trump. Desantis is going to end up winning.

We can’t endure the downballot consequences of Trump as the nominee again. He’s less likely to win and the House and Senate will go blue if he runs.

Trump has peaked

His numbers went up due to the indictment. His attacks on DeSantis had some effect, but now the DeSantis camp is returning fire

What did you disagree with in his speech, policy wise?

I didnt waste my life listening to a campaign speech
His policies are the same as Trump so I probably dont disagree with anything

But the insane melt you cult members are having proves it was a flop like the announcement

He’s really gone off the deep end after losing in 2020. It’s really a shame. I don’t believe he stands a chance against Desantis. I don’t care what any polls say. People are starting out o sour on Trump. I hope when Desantis kicks his arse he takes it easy and enojoy the rest of his life because he really was a good President and he deserves it.

Fair enough. But, if this ends up being wrong, I hope you stop and reflect on how manipulated you've been by those that want you to believe that. It will be a sign that you've lost your ability to read the landscape.

I don't trust polls either. I don't know where Trump / Desantis really stand. And, there's a long way to go. But, I sure as hell have not concluded that Trump is done.

Don’t tell these fanboys idiots that. The man lost in 2020 because he couldn’t get the suburban white women vote and now you go after your former PHS who is admired by the majority of conservative women? Just stupid of him.

He will win the nomination bigly.
Only if it stays a crowded field in the primary.

Trump has probably 1/3 of the primary vote locked up no matter what. If 6 or 7 opponents stay in the race, he's running away with the nomination because the remaining 2/3 of the vote will be split up too many ways. If all the candidates polling in single digits drop out early and its Trump, Desantis, and maybe 1 other candidate...then Trump isn't going to win bigly. He might still win, but it'll be a tight race if the field is small.
