I'm not saying act like Democrats, I'm saying that the meme, flawed as it is, still largely disproves the left's claims when it comes to gun control. They'd have you believe Billy Bob in flyover country and the NRA are the main problems, when clearly they are not. Forget how it makes us relate to other countries, the fact that those five cities move the needle that much is a refutation of the left's bullshite.

The USA has a lower murder rate if you take out the high murder cities in the US and compare them to countries that get no such latitude???
Second, most countries, by political organization, size, and ethnicity are FAR more homogenous. The population and culture of Bergen, Norway... isn't that different than Oslo. But... compare Chicago to Orlando FLA and it's like different planets.

I remember when Rob Schneider used to appear on the original Bill Maher Politically Incorrect show on Comedy Central and he was a purely generic talking points Democrat airhead. He's undergone a massive face-turn as the wrestlers would say. It's great to see that at least a few people will recognize real life events and adjust their opinions accordingly.

It's not just raw numbers, the per capita violent crime rates are much higher in big cities than rural areas. People just aren't meant to live stacked on top of one another. We're social animals but not that social.

When compare a large population of individuals, you're making assumptions that those large populations behave in a similar fashion throughout the population. The smaller, and more homogenous the population the better that assumption holds.
