Sickening.
Cowards even voted "present" instead of "nay."

Why should legal, permanent residents be banned from voting in local elections by some “higher” governmental unit, if the majority of the local jurisdiction wants to let them do so?
Do you disagree with the founding premise that the government which governs best is that which is closest to the people?

Voting should be a privilege that should only be extended to people who have an interest in this country's founding principles now and generations moving forward.

I mean there are some common sense solutions to make this a reasonable law without being over the top.
Local governments may institute their own policies regarding who is eligible to vote, but with certain common sense rules in place.
1) US citizens all have the right to vote in those elections as residents of said voting district. The only exception is if they forfeited that right such as by committing a felony.
2) Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) that obtained their status via legal entry into the US may be granted the right to vote in their district by that district's local government.
3) Anyone else that is either not a permanent resident (e.g. visiting/work/student visas) or anyone else that had entered the country illegally (i.e. even if they have permanent residence but cannot prove a legal entry into the country) will not be granted rights to vote in any district.
That is common sense. It rewards permanent members of the community that followed the law to a right in local elections (not for national elections), and prohibits others through the law.

Citizen only voting!? How the EFF is that even a debatable topic!?!! Hell if you don’t pay taxes and you’re a citizen you shouldn’t be able to vote
