He spoke in an interview earlier this season about focusing on pitching and not hitting had made him a better pitcher this year. Don't see that changing.

last game of the year, up 9-3 in the top of the 9th inning, jay sends out skenes to pinch hit.

he blasts a 2 run shot over the wall in omaha and LSU wins 11-3.

there's the script.

Lets see...

We have 7 in the line up that have hit double digit HR's. Travinski is 2 from being in double digits with only 1/3 of the AB's. Jones has hit 14 and he's struggling to get into the line up. Why in the world would we want Skenes to hit????

He hasn’t faced live pitching in a year. I highly doubt coach Johnson would try to get him reps in the post season when outs are at a premium. Also, what if he took a pitch to his right hand? The melt would be monumental.

Maybe if we need a pinch hitter in game 3 of the Cws and he can’t pitch anymore

Todd Peterson is the only pitcher allowed to hit bombs

I wouldn’t go that far. Really weird stuff happens in the MLB.

But he absolutely won’t ever hit during the rest of his LSU carrier.

Sucks they changed DH rule in the NL. He’d have even that much more value.

Only if we are the home team.

If he did hit IMO it would be in Omaha.

Yes, lets take a bat out of the current lineup that just put up 10 on South Carolina, that would be genius.

The chances are about as good as the chances of you starting a thread that's not idiotic.

In other word, don't plan on it.

Not a chance; they would be throwing pitches right at him. What would you people that want this think if he batted and was injured and sidelined? Just not going to happen.

NO WAY, OPPOSING PITCHES WOULD INTENTLY TARGET HIM TO BE HIT...

That would automatically result in teams fight and fights in stands.
