That doesn’t mean that what he said isn’t true. The past 3 weeks have been the worst 3 weeks that this team has played all year. That’s just a fact.

Auburn is on an 8-game conference winning streak and won their last 5 conference series. A road series loss against a hot team who finished 5th in the conference wasn’t the disaster everyone is making it out to be. It wasn’t materially different from going 1-1 at 6th place SC needing a late game grand slam to avoid being swept.
Winning the road series at Georgia was not a bad result and not particularly different from taking 2 of 3 at A&M. LSU went 9-5 on the road. Florida was the only other conference team to finish above .500 on the road at 8-7. Georgia swept Arkansas and won home series against Tennessee and Kentucky.
So, really, all that leaves is the bad weekend against Miss St. There’s no way to sugar coat that one. It was a terrible result to lose to the 13th place team at home, but it was one weekend and really one game that Johnson took for granted and thought he could use to try to get his bullpen right for postseason. If he doesn’t put Little in and leave him in for 4 runs, LSU wins that game, they win the conference and they are #1 or #2. Suddenly everyone’s outlook and perception is dramatically different.
