Another important factor is Brian Kemp. He is the most popular politician in GA. His latest approval rating has him at 60% and he defeated Abrams by nearly 300K votes last November.

It's a shame that such a popular guy in a state couldn't hold any sway on getting his party over the hump in Senate elections.

Blame 2020 on Trump.

Blame 2022 on Trump.

It is pretty simple.

How do you endorse a guy that held a loaded gun to his ex wife's head?

BTW, Kemp actually did a lot to help get Walker elected. He cut commercials for him and lent him his "get out the vote" team.

Kemp didn't hand-pick Walker. Trump did.

Kemp helped 7 other state-wide Republicans over the finish line, every incumbent Congressional Republican won, and helped Republicans in the State Legislature maintain a majority despite millions coming in from California and New York to try and flip control to the Dems. Kemp even helped Trump's LG pick, Burt Jones, over the finish line. Jones was a shite candidate who spent 2021 parroting the Wood/Powell/Trump/Rudy nonsense about satellites from outer space controlling Dominion machines, or whatever the frick that nonsense was. Kemp and his people pulled Jones aside behind the scenes and told him to cut that shite out. Although Jones won, he performed the worst of all state-wide R's who won.

Trump tried to help flip the Gubernatorial seat to the Dems. He had David Perdue try to take out Kemp in the Primary and Perdue would've lost to Abrams if he had gotten the nomination.

If Trump had his way, Republicans would've lost 4 of the state-wide races. Jody Hice (SOS) and Perdue (GOV) would've lost had they gotten the nomination and without Kemp pulling Jones aside behind the scenes, Jones would've lost as well.

GOP ran a horrible candidate in Walker. Walker come off as a) stupid and b) full of contradictions. I was pushing for him, but in the GOP, you have to bring someone better than Walker to win. Same thing with Oz. Celebrity candidates, for the most part, are terrible at messaging.

If you want to beat the Democrat machine, you put up a candidate that is 100% unabashedly conservative, pro-life, and doesnt' shy away from it. These milquetoast "republicans" that share many views with Democrats and don't take a hard line on conservative issues are easily defeated. Conservatives/Republicans don't want weak candidates. Walker and Oz were very weak.

Who tried to destroy Kemp for no reason, other than that Kemp happened to be governor when Trump lost GA?

By the way, Trump losing GA and AZ is a huge warning sign about NC and TX. Good chance that those states flip if Trump is nominated again.

It's a shame Trump endorsed a disastrous candidate like Herschel
