His defense was alarmingly weak. The case against him was full of holes but won because he and his defense attorneys did a horrible job.

He needed to listen to his lawyers who no doubt coached him to say the Access Hollywood tape was just locker room talk and he never really meant it. He also should have testified simply that the incident never happened and never have said anything about Carrol not being his type.

Finally his lawyers certainly could have dredged up a witness who knew Carrol at the time and could testify that she never told them she had been attacked by Trump. At least put up some sort of defense. Jeez that was weak.

She won the verdict because he put up zero defense. Anything probably would have given a jury a reason not to find for her.
