In a perfect world I would like to have a 6’5 bruiser in there but although we are smaller down low we will be more athletic and still dominate the boards. This year Williams was and I am guessing 6’ 3 6’4 . Morrow is just a few inches smaller and is a better rebounder. Reese will get hers. Since we are lacking in size Johnson and Williams will have to rebound. Van Lith is not scared to get in there either on longer rebounds. Del Rosario is a year away IMO. She reminds me of where Gusters was when she came here. How many minutes will Bartlett or A. Williams be able to give us? I am not sure. Going off this year not many. They would need to take a big jump.

Yeah, ideally, if Rosario could simply (but miraculously) perform like Gusters, I'd feel much better about the front court depth. That, or Bartlett or A. Williams surprising us all with some stout play.

Otherwise, I'm penciling in Reese & Morrow for 35 mins a game. That doesn't make me sad one bit, but I would be concerned if one or both missed significant time.

Don't forget Samyah Smith. She could be a big we need.

I've already said she's first off the bench & competent contributor, but she's only 6-2 and hasn't shown an elite trait (like being an elite freak rebounder like Morrow that overcomes any lack of height.)

While I'm not scared one bit of Reese/Morrow taking on a 6-7 Cardoso, I'm not confident a 6-2 Smith can win that matchup all game, if needed.

SC and Uconn had good recruiting classes as well, it is not as easy as you think. Also #1 recruiting vs #3 or #6 is subjective.

Neither one of those teams has a Mikaylah Williams in their freshman class, and there is certainly nothing subjective about saying Van Lith and Morrow are both way better than any transfers they've brought in. And SC doesn't return a heck of a lot.

Nothing comes "easy", but I don't think the talent is particularly close to LSU from any team other than maybe UConn. And I think LSU is still clearly more talented than UConn.

Here’s a video that specifically compares the matchup between LSU vs UConn: LINK

I don’t agree with this guys ultimate take (spoilers: he favors UConn) but I think it’s a good resource for scouting out UConn’s projected lineup, if anybody is unfamiliar with their team.

Yes but we are talking about 1 or 2 games this season that we’ll be outmatched in 1 area. The one poster was right when he said that this can be offset by strength, quickness and smart play. We dominated in rebounds this season and I think this will be offset by our shooting ability, which will clearly be much better than almost everyone. HVL was also a good rebounder because of her smart play and her hustle. We won’t be missing as many shots this season and bigs will have lots of issues guarding these big but also quick players.

Yeah, I've stumbled across this guy's video's, and saw this one earlier today. I don't think he's all that knowledgeable about this subject, to be honest. He just kind of runs through names, and tries to imagine how they'd match up. He has stated in another video that he thinks the starting lineup for LSU will be Van Lith, Johnson, Reese, Morrow and Del Rosario. He seems convinced that LSU simply must incorporate a center into their lineup.

But we played with three guards all year, and I don't know why that would change with Williams coming in. He barely talks about Williams, and just in general doesn't seem to know much about LSU's freshman class. I don't know if he's a UConn fan or what, but his lack of defined reasoning for favoring them over LSU was rather confusing.

I think Mulkey is trying to add a big, but feel Rosario will progress just fine and hold her own as a rebounder later in the year. We don't need the kid to be a superstar. We will likely ask her to focus on rebounding and defending. We will score plenty next year and won't need much offense from her. Mulkey is the perfect coach to draw out the attitude Rosario will want to play with.

As others have said, the teams that have more bigs than us will have to figure out how to guard us. It will not be easy.

Going to be a fun year!
