I get the point of the tape and the role it played, but it seems ridiculous that they use tape to seal the suit only at the wrists? that makes no sense. Why wouldn't the suit be all connected there, just like the feet are?
The people that help make and design that suit have to be mindless drones and idiots to not question this design flaw.
and i did enjoy this show very much. can't wait for season 2.

Pretty sure they taped around the ankles too but I think it is just one of those things that doesn't translate well from book to screen.

my initial thought was that they were gassing the cleaners in that chamber before sending them up the stairs and that would take a certain amount of time to kill them. Then they would fire the chamber after the cleaner would leave to burn off the gas.
So in the end it was the tape keeping Nichols alive. Since she really has no oxygen tank, there is no way her suit could keep her alive for long. Therefore, the air quality outside has to be somewhat breathable.
Also it was weird that he cut her helmet feed so abruptly. What's the point in that?
I would think Season 2 would have be split between the beginnings of a rebellion inside the silo and Nichols stumbling to the other silos trying to garner attention.
And Bernard totally had no idea about the door, tunnel or excavator. I imagine he'll be sending a recon team to try and find that ASAP.
