Going on a couples trip in October and no one in our group has been. Looking for some day/night things to do. Hikes, tours, breweries, bars, restaurants, golf, etc.

Golf and dinner at Edgewood. Stateline brewery in Southlake had some decent beers and food as well.

Depending on your level of fitness. Hiking to Mt. Lassen is beautiful. Assuming their is not a lot of snow up top.

Walking down to the lighthouse and the beach in DL bliss State park is nice. Hiking into Desolation wilderness to Eagle Lake is a nice morning trip.

on our 2021-Ski trip (off day) the wife(No pics) and I, just hopped in the car mid morning and made a trip around the lake. Stopped off for coffee, lunch, pics along the way...very much an enjoyable ride (will take couple hours).

Now this was in Feb. but I would think October would be pretty as well.

Sand Harbor beach was also a particular favorite for Tahoe style photos

I enjoy breakfast at the Driftwood Cafe over in Heavenly when I am there. I second dinner at Edgewood as well

We took a self-guided driving tour that a concierge suggested. It was a good way to see a lot of the scenery, beaches, notable spots, etc. We stayed in Heavenly Village, central to a lot. Agree with Driftwood Cafe and Stateline Brewery as good stops.

Himmel Haus German restaurant. We went there twice on a 4-day ski trip, we liked it so much.

Don't stay at the Hard Rock. It's a real dump. Our golf group goes every year and we've learned to stay far away...

You can't control the temperature of the a/c or heat at the Hard Rock.... only the fan speed. In June, I would open the balcony door during the day and close it when I went to sleep.

The elevators are junk. Last time we stayed was in 2021 & the doors only opened a foot wide on the ground floor twice on that trip. We had to get help to pry the doors open. That caused us to have one working elevator (out of 3) for 15 floors. The fire alarm went off two nights in a row too...

Our group of 28 golfers & families switched to Harvey's last year & it was 1000000% better.
